Beginner Butterflies
November 12, 2018
I was kindly invited to run a little taster water colour session at a Craft Fair in Poole, I was only expecting a few people at the event but there were over 100! The lovely people who run this event started quite a few years ago and it has grown. They had never had water colour before so it was nice to try something new.
I was lucky to have a great group of newbies and they threw them selves into creating and experimenting with new techniques – a couple were particularly messy, which was great!
We started with simple tones using 3 colours, just so they could get a feel for the different textures of the paint.
Then we did some simple washes in circles and after that moved on to a Butterfly to bring the techniques together. Some splatting also went on and I even managed to encourage one lady away from a yukky brown to PINK! ( and she hates that colour apparently).
Thanks for a fun after noon and the lovely feedback - see you in February 2019.
Great work by the guys and I’ve been invited back – and will be doing 2 sessions this time.
